How do I return an AutoNation Mobility car?
Once you've made your last monthly payment, you’ll be able to return your car to an AutoNation store. You will receive an email from our team in the last 30 days of your micro lease term to coordinate your return and review your return location.
Can I return to any AutoNation location?
Only certain AutoNation locations are equipped to process an AutoNation Mobility return. In most cases, your return location will be the same location that you picked up from. If you need to return to a different AutoNation location, please let our team know at support@autonationmobility.com.
Can I reschedule my return?
If you scheduled a return date and need to reschedule, please contact us to help find an alternative time to return. Keep in mind that you’ll need to return before your term is up to avoid late penalties.
Do I need to fill the gas tank up before returning?
No. Gas tanks do not need to be full to return.
Do I need to get a carwash before returning?
No. A carwash is not required, but your car will go through an inspection for any damage so a dirty car could slow this process.
Can someone else drop off the car on my behalf?
If you are unable to return your car yourself, please contact us to designate an approved point of contact to return on your behalf. Our team needs to be notified in advance or your designated point of contact will not be able to return on your behalf. This person must bring a valid ID with them to verify that they are the approved point of contact.
Can I drop the car off after-hours?
No. For liability purposes, AutoNation Mobility does not currently offer after-hours drop-offs.
What do I need to bring with me to return a car?
You’ll need to bring a valid ID with you to return.
Please also ensure that all elements of the car that were issued to you when you picked up the vehicle are in the car at the time of return, such as:
- Car keys and any spare keys
- Owner’s manual or any other manufacturer’s documentation
- Floor mats
- Spare tires or spare tire kits
- Charging cables or accessories
- Headrests
- Trunk privacy cover
- Charging cables & adapters
What should I remove from my car prior to returning?
Please make sure to remove all personal belongings prior to returning. Additionally, please erase any personal information saved in your car’s digital system such as phone numbers, addresses, paired devices, etc.
Some common items to check for are:
- Parking passes, handicap placards, etc.
- Garage door clickers
- Sunglasses
- Charging cables, cell phone holders and accessories
- Items in the glove box and center console
- Audio accessories
- GPS accessories
- Toll transponders
- Bike racks, roof racks and cargo carriers
- Aftermarket backup cameras
- Removable window tinting
- Truck bed liners, cargo nets, etc.
- Tow hitches
- Decorative accessories
I accidentally left personal belongings in the car. What should I do?
Please contact us or the AutoNation store where you returned your vehicle directly to check the lost and found.
I have an outstanding balance on my account. Can I still return?
Yes, you can still return. You will be responsible for any unpaid balances, including any additional charges, upon return.
How long does it typically take to process a return and get my post-return bill or refund?
The process is quick. You’ll turn in your keys and do a walkaround of the car with a Mobility Associate at the store to inspect for any damage and log the return odometer reading. Once your return has been processed it usually takes approximately 10 business days to receive your final invoice or security deposit refund. See the Post-Return Bill article for more information.
