Yes! AutoNation Mobility handles the DMV paperwork on your behalf. If applicable, we will also handle your vehicle registration renewal.
When will I get my permanent license plate and registration?
AutoNation starts the process of getting your permanent license plates and registration with the DMV immediately after your agreement has been signed and you have picked up your car. The timing of when you will receive your permanent license plate and registration is dependent on how quickly the DMV can process our request, but typically takes a number of weeks.
In California, your temporary license plate and registration is valid for at least 90 days. To see the most current timelines, please refer directly to the California DMV website.
In Florida, your temporary license plate and registration is valid for at least 30 days. To see the most current timelines, please refer directly to the Florida HSMV website.
Can I get a customized vanity plate?
No. We are unable to request vanity plates.
My registration is about to expire or I received a notice about registration renewal from the DMV. What should I do?
AutoNation Mobility processes registration renewals on behalf of our customers as part of the micro lease service. If you receive a notice about registration renewal, please submit the renewal to AutoNation Mobility via the Registration Renewal Notice form; in most cases, however, the request is already being processed by our team.

I have outstanding citations, tolls or tickets on my account. Can I still renew my registration?
In some states, an outstanding citation, ticket or toll charge associated with a vehicle will prevent our team from processing a registration renewal. You must settle your balance prior to your registration renewal window to avoid any complications or delays in the process.
I’m ready to return – do I need to do anything with my registration or plates?
If you got a car from CA, please leave your plates on the vehicle when you return it. AutoNation Mobility will handle transfer (if applicable) or disposal of the license plate(s).
In Florida, you are free to take the plates after you return your vehicle. If you prefer AutoNation Mobility to dispose of the plates, you may leave the plates on the vehicle.
