What if I applied a credit freeze or credit lock with Experian?
To qualify you for an AutoNation Mobility micro lease, we require everyone to go through a soft credit check, which does not impact your credit score. If you placed a credit freeze or credit lock on your Experian credit report, we will not be able to obtain the credit information necessary to qualify you.
Please lift your credit freeze or credit lock before you start the prequalification process. The same applies for the hard credit check process required prior to finalizing your micro lease during checkout.
How do I lift a credit freeze or credit lock with Experian?
To lift a credit freeze or credit lock, you can either call Experian, or lift the freeze online through your Experian account.
How long do I need to lift my credit freeze or credit lock for?
As you’re setting up your micro lease, there are two instances where we’ll need access to your credit report:
- During the prequalification process, where we will be performing a soft credit check that does not impact your credit score, however, it may show up on your report. The credit freeze or credit lock will need to be lifted during this timeframe to become prequalified.
- Later, when you confirm your micro lease, we will inform you that we will be performing a hard credit check so that we can finalize the order. You will also need to have your credit freeze or credit lock lifted during this time.
